Asda launches own-brand Matcha products after TikTok craze



Supermarket giant Asda has launched two new own-brand matcha latte sachets in vanilla and blueberry, tapping into the rising popularity of matcha among Gen Z shoppers.

This can then be put into smoothies and even chocolate bars, and has become a new favourite drink in high street coffee shops.

And with popularity continuing to grow on TikTok and social media amongst Gen Z Brits, Asda has created two own-brand products to satisfy their shoppers.

Customers are now able to purchase a box of Β£1.70 Matcha latte sachets in store in two on-trend flavours – vanilla and blueberry.

The product landed in store on May 4th and each box contains eight instant sachets which can be added to water and ice to create the refreshing beverage.

Since the launch of their new home or on-the-go product, Asda claims searches for ‘Matcha’ is up 381% on their website week-on-week proving to already be a hit.

And with a high street coffee shop Matcha setting Brits back around Β£4.50, customers can enjoy one of Asda’s green drinks for just 20p a serving.

To boost your Matcha drink, the retailer has also launched Β£2.50 vanilla and hazelnut flavour syrups on the side.

This can be added to the iced green drink to give your beverage an extra sweet kick.

A Matcha can be enjoyed hot or cold but as summer approaches most op to enjoy the refreshing drink with ice which is said to make it more smooth and refreshing.

After the launch of the Matcha latte sachets earlier this month, users were quick to comment on the new product.

One user said: “Ahhh gonna have to try.”

Another user said: “Get me to Asda right now.”

A third said: “Oh my God. They’ve got the blueberry one. How good does that look?”

A fourth commented: “We’re going to Asda tomorrow.”
