Cocktail bar Dr.inks in Redcar announces sudden closure

Dr.Inks, on Redcar High Street, confirmed the news in a Facebook post on Monday (January 12), thanking customers for their support. The venue opened in August 2024 and was popular with punters.

Dr.Inks, which has another branch in Darlington which remains open, offered cocktails, bottomless brunches and afternoon tea with a twist.

In a statement shared online, the post said: “Redcar – it’s been an amazing journey. We’ve now called time for the final time and are officially closed.

“A huge thank you to everyone who shared memories with us along the way.”

The post also confirmed the pub is now to let, with Parker Barras handling enquiries.

The announcement prompted an emotional response from customers, with many expressing their disappointment at the closure.

One person said: “I love my little visits to you guys, always friendly, amazing cocktails and where am I going to get a flaming shot with a boujie vibe now?”

While another said: “What a shame it was refurbed beautifully we loved going in. Hope it reopens again soon.”

While the closure has been announced, the reason behind it has not yet been confirmed.
