The visit comes as the Grade II listed pub, believed to be the oldest in Northallerton with parts dating back to the 15th century, works towards reopening its doors to the public.
The Fleece Inn has been undergoing an extensive refurbishment under new owners S&S Taverns Ltd. Works include updating the furnishings, decorating, rearranging the bar and restaurant area, and an updated kitchen with brand new equipment.
Managing director, Sam Matthews,Β said the company are “thrilled” to be bringing back βthis much-loved local with great food, a welcoming atmosphere, and your favourite pints on tapβ.

The management team is aiming to have the kitchen open by the end of January, marking a major step in restoring the pub as a central hub for the community.
The post added: βWeβre also delighted to share that we are working towards having the kitchen open by the end of January, marking another big step in bringing The Fleece back as a welcoming hub for the whole community.
