South Causey Inn launches suite spa in County Durham woods
South Causey Inn has launched The Woodland Spa, a secluded wellness experience set in private woodland overlooking the Beamish Valley.
The spa features four luxury Woodland Spa Suites, each designed to accommodate up to four guests and equipped with a sauna, steam room, plunge pool, hydrotherapy whirlpool, and a private balcony with valley views.
A dedicated butler service is available throughout the three-hour, fully private spa sessions.
Susan Moiser, owner of South Causey Inn, said: “The Woodland Spa feels like the final piece of the jigsaw for us.
“Over the years, we’ve worked hard to create a destination where people can enjoy great food and drink, stay in beautiful surroundings and celebrate life’s special moments.
“The spa completes that picture by giving guests a dedicated space to relax, unwind and enjoy some time away from the pressures of everyday life.
“Whether it’s a couple looking for some quality time together, friends celebrating a milestone, family members spending time together or someone simply looking to switch off and recharge, we wanted to create an experience that feels both luxurious and personal.”
The Woodland Spa offers a range of Templespa treatments delivered by experienced therapists, with packages combining wellness experiences with dining, afternoon tea, and overnight stays.
Guests have described the spa as “the best local wellness experience we’ve had in a long while.”
Located less than 30 minutes from Newcastle, Durham, and Sunderland, the venue is positioned as an “ideal base” for exploring the North East.
South Causey Inn has introduced the spa as part of its expanding offerings, which already include overnight stays, dining, celebrations and countryside escapes.
The recent extension of Restaurant Hjemβs residency until the end of 2026 further “adds to its appeal” as a destination.
Ms Moiser said: “We’ve been delighted by the response to the Woodland Spa since opening.
“Guests have loved having a private space to themselves and it’s been wonderful to see people using the suites to celebrate special occasions, spend time together and create lasting memories.”
The Woodland Spa is open to both hotel guests and non-residents.
