Reform UK set to win 11 North East seats in shock new poll

JL Partners newest seat projection using POLARIS found that Reform would sweep to victory in Hartlepool, Bishop Auckland and Sunderland Central, unseating Education Secretary Bridget Phillipson.

Labour would lose 15 seats in the region, reducing their number to just 11 North East MPs.

Reform UK are also second in 10 out of the 11 projected Labour seats and a regional swing of just five points to Reform UK could see them win a further five seats in the region. This would take them to 16 seats in the region and leave Labour on just six.

The Conservatives would regain seats across the region including Darlington and Hexham, taking them to five seats across the region.

Here is a map of the projected results of a general election today:

(Image: JLP) The research revealed that the top issue in the region is cost of living support with 45 per cent of voters telling pollsters this was a top three issue, up from 34 per cent in June.

Callum Hunter, Senior Data Scientists at JL Partners said: “As with the rest of the country, the North East could see a huge political change at the next election.

“Labour have lost the trust of voters across the region leaving space for Reform UK to make major progress.”

Another voter in North Yorkshire told JLP: “Reform is the only party that will take action to solve the country’s problems. The other parties are all spineless talking shops.”
