The Truffled Hog restaurant Saltburn announces closure
The Truffled Hog on Dundas Street East in Saltburn says it has closed “with immediate effect”, much to the sadness of diners.
The venue, which was one of four in the region, first opened in August 2024 and new spots in Sutton Bank and Danby Lodge opened their doors for the first time this year.
But now, bosses say they have made the “tough decision” to close to focus on its other venues.
A statement posted on Instagram read: “Running a small business, especially a restaurant, is very rewarding, but it also comes with its challenges.
“After a lot of thought, weโve made the tough decision to close our Saltburn restaurant.
“As much as weโve loved being there, it just hasnโt been the right fit for us commercially. Like many small businesses, we sometimes have to make hard choices so we can keep doing what we love, serving great food and good vibes.”
They added: “In the last 6 months we have also been given a great opportunity to partner with the North York Moors National Park and now is the right time for us to focus our energy on our new locations Danby Lodge and Sutton Bank, alongside Stokesley.
“Weโre so proud of our amazing Saltburn team โ theyโve given it everything, and we know many of you have loved getting to know them too.
“Youโll still see the Saltburn teamโs friendly faces at our other spots! We are now closed at Saltburn with immediate effect. Our customers are our community and you mean the world to us – thanks for sticking around and supporting us.
“Weโd love to see you soon at Stokesley, Sutton Bank, and Danby Lodge.”
Taking to the comments, diners have expressed their upset at the news – but affirmed they will support its other venues.
