Stockton food blogger takes on ‘world’s biggest bacon bun’

Craig Harker, who runs YouTube channel Dad Loves Food, decided to take on a seemingly impossible challenge last week – scoffing 100 pieces of bacon in a giant stottie.

The 37-year-old, who also owns The George Pub & Grill in Stockton, managed to get the staff at the sausage roll chain to craft the giant bun, for a cool fee of £60.

The “absolute monster” was so big that it had to be fitted into a huge Greggs pizza box, which Craig then carried out of the shop with a bottle of HP and Heinz tomato ketchup.

A video posted on the YouTube channel shows the dad trying to tuck into the mega sarnie, which looks about the size of a football.

Craig gave it a good go but only managed to eat 38 slices.

The bacon didn’t go to waste though, as he bought some extra buns and stotties for any rashers that were left over to feed everyone else around the dinner table.

This isn’t the first time Craig has tried to take on a massive bacon sandwich, previously giving a 2,500-calorie bun in 2022, packed full of 51 rashers.

He sadly also couldn’t quite finish this sandwich, conceding defeat.
