Outstanding County Durham spa shortlisted at national awards

The spa at County Durham’s Ramside Hall Hotel, Golf and Spa is a finalist in the Good Spa Guide Awards 2025, in the Destination Spa of the Year and Best Spa for Sustainability categories.

The venue is renowned for its facilities which include a thermal suite with two saunas, two steam rooms, a caldarium and mud rasul.

There are also six different pools including a 25m swimming pool, a balcony infinity pool, a hydrotherapy pool, frigidarium pool and indoor and outdoor whirlpools.

In addition, the 14 treatment rooms offer facials and body rituals by Elmis and Voya – with private hire beauty snugs for groups.

Post-treatment, visitors can curl up in soundwave therapy pods in the sleep sanctuary or relax in the spa garden.

Great day and amazing Elemis Swedish Massage with a lovely girl ‘Karolina’ who actually took note of how i wanted my massage with low presure. Felt amazing, thanks Karolina, totally relaxing!!. Great 2 course lunch at Fusion Restaurant, good selection of food and didnt wait long to be served. Good facilities, great day all round.”

If you want to show your support for Ramside Hall Hotel’s spa to be crowned the winners of Destination Spa of the Year and Best Spa for Sustainability, you can vote via the Good Spa Awards website.

Spa director Fay Pratt is delighted to have made it to the shortlist within both categories, but for Destination Spa of the Year in particular.

She said: “It’s the perfect category for us because Ramside Hall hotel, Golf and Spa is absolutely a destination venue, with people travelling from far and wide to visit.

The awards are voted for by the public, with voting open between May 1 until May 31.
