Little Land of Adventures, Ferryhill makes Echo top ten

Little Land of Adventures in Ferryhill, now run by Brittany Davison, 25, of Darlington, has made the top ten of The Northern Echo’s Best Indoor Family Entertainment competition.

Brittany, who brings her three-year-old, Se7en Johnson, to work with her each day, took over the centre in October last year.

She said: β€œIt has been Little Land of Adventures for about five years, but before that, it was a nursery where I trained in early years as a teenager.

β€œWhen I saw the opportunity, it just felt right, like it was destined to be. It was like coming home. I love coming here to work every day. It is all the fun of working in childcare without the stress.”

Little Land of Adventures has different areas of role play, including a kitchen, shop, construction area, and an outside play area with slides and ride-on toys.

β€œIt is great to bring my little one to work every day, and he has ready-made friends to play with.

β€œMy partner has older children, but they still love to come here and play too!”

While still new to the business, Brittany hasn’t made any changes yet – but has big plans for the future.

She said: β€œWe are hoping to do a full-rebuild and include lots more sensory equipment.

β€œWe want to be more inclusive for older special educational needs children, and even adults.

β€œThere isn’t a lot of provision for that group in the area at the moment. We are hoping to be able to apply for grants and be able to deliver something that will suit a range of ages.”
