Lidl launches £3.99 version of viral Dubai chocolate bar

Dubai Chocolate went viral on the social media platform in 2024 a few years after it was created by Sarah Hamouda of FIX Dessert Chocolatier in 2021.

It combined pistachio nuts and milk chocolate among other Middle Eastern flavours which drew the attention of many food reviewers.

Now Lidl has made its own version of J.D. Gross Dubai-Style Chocolate, with it costing £3.99.

They claim the 122g bar is the “cheapest Dubai-Style Chocolate available from a UK supermarket”.

In comparison, the original Dubai Chocolate bar is listed for £15 on its website.

How to get the Lidl Dubai Chocolate bar

For those who want to get their hands on a Lidl Dubai Chocolate bar, they will need to be quick.

In total, there will be 6,000 available to buy on Lidl’s TikTok shop from 9am on Thursday, March 20.

These will be available as stocks last so shoppers may not have another opportunity once they are sold out.

In a statement, the supermarket added: “The highly sought-after choc, which drops as the only UK supermarket own-brand version, will be available to 6,000 lucky shoppers, who will have the chance to get their hands on it in an exclusive first taste, made possible by Lidl on TikTok Shop.

“This momentous occasion marks Lidl’s second foray into TikTok Shop, as the announcement comes hot on the heels of the recent launch of its Protein Bundles, which sold out just 18 minutes after dropping on the platform.

Lidl is not the only company that has created its own version of a Dubai Chocolate bar, as Lindit did so back in December 2024.

They released it in a small selection of Lindt stores as a limited-edition product.
