First look inside luxury new ODEON cinema in Middlesbrough
The popular cinema chain has transformed the old Cineworld building off Marton Road and is preparing to welcome movie-fans from Tuesday, June 10.
The cinema will be launching with four screens, with more to come, each featuring luxury reclining seats for guests to kick back and relax.
New pictures have offered the first look inside the luxurious revamp of the cinema, which has a modern new entrance and has even seen the introduction of VIP beds.

In July, ODEON will open another seven screens, including an IMAX with laser format and a Luxe suite, which is described as a “private cinema oasis” boasting 68 two-seater pods.
The IMAX screen, which will be the first on Teesside, will feature floor-to-ceiling and wall-to-wall viewing, making guests “feel like they are inside of the film”.
The 1,000-plus seat cinema will also feature Oscar’s bar, named after ODEON founder Oscar Deutsch, which will serve up wines, beers, and cocktails.

And, for selfie-lovers, an ODEON selfie station will give guests the chance to enjoy a photobooth experience during their visit and take home a memento.
Cinema general manager Mitch said the new ODEON has “some of the best reclining seats ever” and “really stands apart” from others.
He explained: “To open, we’re going with a £7.50 price point, which is really accessible for all guests to get in and experience the cinema.

“As well as that already, we’ve got a really wide range of food options, from hot foods to your standard popcorn with toppers and sweets.
“But the hot food really stands apart as the North East tends to love our cheese!”
Mitch also confirmed that July 21 will be the date when the second phase will open to the public, bringing the seven extra screens.Inside ODEON Luxe Middlesbrough (Image: TERRY BLACKBURN)

He continued: “We’ve got our other two premium large format screens in IMAX, which is the best cinema experience in my humble opinion.
“And then we’ve got the Luxe suite experience as well, which is more of a private enclosed experience for guests, as opposed to your standard recliner experience.”
Mitch said that the team are “buzzing” to build a community at the cinema, and has taken on several staff members who were made redundant after the closing of Cineworld.

As previously reported, the unit operated as Cineworld for around 23 years before its closure, and was one of several earmarked for closure last year.
ODEON confirmed in mid December that it had secured a new agreement to take over the former Cineworld.

The announcement marked the return of ODEON to the town centre, having previously owned a cinema on Corporation Road before it was demolished in the mid 2000s.
Guests will benefit from four hours’ free parking in the leisure parks-owned car park.
There will also be a limited-time offer of free parking after 3pm in the extended France Street car park, which will be available from June 10 until August 29.
