Fellini’s in Middlesbrough announces shock closure

Fellini’s has been serving up classic Italian pizza, pasta, and seafood dishes since opening its restaurant on Linthorpe Road in 2000.Ā

But after two and a half decades in town, the award-winning venue today (January 27) made the shock announcement that it is closing.Ā

A post on the venue’s Facebook page states that the restaurant is ā€œclosing due to family circumstancesā€ with more details to follow soon.Ā

Further posts state that anyone with vouchers for the site or pre-paid deposits should ring or turn up between Saturday and Tuesday between 9pm and 9.30pm.

ā€œPlease be kind at this time online, everyone is fighting a battle you know nothing about,ā€ a final post on the Facebook page said.Ā

Fellini’s quickly became one of Middlesbrough’s top restaurants after being set up by the Peretti family at the start of the 2000s, opposite Albert Park.Ā

The venue – which was taken over in the mid 2000s – has always been highly rated, with customers praising the ā€œfood that never fails, top service, and amazing staffā€.

Full details regarding the closure are expected to be announced on the Fellini’s Facebook page.
