Cadbury Crispello chocolate bars on sale at B&M for 49p

Cadbury Crispello chocolate bars on sale at B&M for 49p

Crispello, a mix of wafer and chocolate, has only been available abroad until recently, when shoppers were quick to spot it back in the UK.

The bars are being sold in individual packs, each containing four separate chocolate-covered crispy wafer shells with a creamy chocolate filling, for just 49p.

Snack lovers on Facebook say they have had to scour the internet to find Crispello’s available on overseas food sites at premium prices – or keep a look out while on their travels – as it appears they’re still available in India.

But since being spotted in the snack aisle at B&M, it’s brought back a certain amount of nostalgia for those who had forgotten they once existed.

On Facebook, one user said: “Saw these in B&M and immediately thought of years ago when they were out.”

While another added: “Need these! I remember back in the day when they came out and they were yum.”

Others simply posted “addictive” and “delish” and made comparisons to Kinder’s legendary Bueno range.

Discontinued UK Sweets/Chocolates

The B&M website describes Crispello as: “Delicious Dairy Milk chocolate with a crispy centre. Four fingers of light crispies coated in milk chocolate. Perfect for sharing or scoffing by yourself!”

When Cadbury first launched Crispello back in 2012, the brand made the bold claim that they were firmly aimed at women.

Crispello was Cadbury’s first new chocolate bar since the 1990s at its time of launch.

In a Guardian article from the time, it described Crispello’s name as having a “purry appeal” and “aimed squarely at a female demographic.”

Despite this, its future in the UK was short-lived, disappearing off the shelves within a couple of years.
