Aldi competition in to win a year’s supply of surprise bags

The supermarket chain has partnered with Too Good To Go, an app that helps reduce food waste, to give customers in Tyne & Wear the chance to win the prize.

People can enter by emailing their top tip for reducing food waste to TooGoodToGoCompetition@aldi.co.uk.

The competition is open from now until Friday, April 11, and the winner will be chosen by Aldi during the week beginning Monday, April 14.

These surprise bags are part of the store’s ongoing efforts to cut down food waste.

The bags, which cost Β£3.30, contain a selection of grocery products nearing their sell-by or use-by dates, and are worth at least Β£10.

Luke Emery, national sustainability director at Aldi UK, said: “At Aldi, we’re always looking for ways to help our customers make more sustainable choices.

“We’re also excited to offer one lucky winner a year’s supply of surprise bags, helping them to not only reduce food waste, but also save even more money in the process.”

Sid Baveja, vice president of operations for central Europe, UK and Ireland at Too Good To Go, said: “We hope this collaboration with Lagomchef and Aldi highlights how easy it is to save surplus food with our surprise bags and get creative in the kitchen.
