Thirsk’s Brew & Bite Popular playroom marks 1,000th visit
Brew & Bite, in Thirsk, opened in July 2024 and has a first-floor playroom for children aged 0 to 5.
The playroom has a range of toys, including role-play areas, construction toys, and a library.
There is no entry charge for the playroom, which is for cafΓ© customers who are accompanied by 0 to five-year-olds.
The cafΓ© owner, Eleanor Fletcher, said: “Our playroom space is much-loved by our younger visitors and their parents or grandparents.
“We have so many lovely, local regulars, who we see week in, week out, which means we have got to know the children.
“We are also really pleased to have become an attractive place for people with little ones to meet-up, especially coming from further afield such as Leeds, Yarm, Harrogate, and Helmsley.”
The Brew & Bite playroom is open from 9am, Monday to Saturday, and from 10am on Sunday, with the last entry at 2.15pm.
The first-floor space has tables so food can be served, and the cafΓ© has a special kidsβ menu, featuring simple snacks as well as kids-sized meals.
Brew & Bite also has a ground-floor cafΓ© area, serving hot drinks, cakes, and bakes, plus a wide-ranging menu including homemade soup, jacket potatoes, filled bagels, and hot sandwiches.
The cafΓ© area has also recently introduced a gift range, working in partnership with local independent businesses and artists.
