Tees Valley Combined Authority wants views on skills training
Tees Valley Combined Authority (TVCA), which is responsible for adult skills across the region, provides support to help people secure employment and develop their careers.
There is currently a wide range of funded support available through the TVCA-administered Adult Skills Fund, delivered by local councils, colleges, and independent training providers.
However, the authority is now seeking the views of companies to ensure the skills needs are being met to support future growth and that local residents are being equipped with appropriate training to move into jobs.Your views are needed (Image: Tom Banks)
The funding will also aid in training the existing local workforce to drive career progression and the creation of new jobs.
Tees Valley Mayor Ben Houchen said: “It’s essential that our fantastic local businesses have access to the best quality training to develop skills in their organisation and drive the growth of our local economy.
“The training must also meet the needs of our local workforce as we continue to develop Teesside, Darlington, and Hartlepool as a centre for industries ranging from clean energy to digital.
“But we can only achieve this with the support of local industry and training providers, and it’s therefore vital that we hear from them about how the future of adult skills training should be developed.”
