Ramside Hall: New ‘barn marquee’ for summer events

The new structure at the Ramside Hall Hotel, Golf and Spa, near Durham, will be used for weddings and other events from May to September.

The barn marquee will be in place until early October and can accommodate 160 people sitting at round tables or 200 people at a less formal event.

The space has a canvas roof and roll-up sides that open onto landscaped gardens with festoon lighting.

It also has its own bar, a dedicated barbecue area with a special menu created by the hotel’s chefs, and a pizza van that can be used by guests.

The barn marquee is fully heated and has a stone floor.

It is decorated with large floral chandeliers and a wall of greenery that provides a backdrop for photographs.

John Adamson, owner of Ramside Hall Hotel, Golf and Spa, said: “Our summer marquee is always really popular and we always have scores of events.

“But we decided that we would now create something unique which keeps all of the most attractive features of a marquee but elevates them to a new level.

“The barn marquee is a really versatile space so it’s not just suitable for weddings but for events of all kinds and we look forward to being able to show visitors just what a great option it is.”

The hotel will hold a showcase evening for the new barn marquee on June 17, where visitors are welcome to drop in between 4.30pm and 6.30pm to see what it has to offer.
