Bellway Homes teams up with Regeneration Brainery

Bellway Homes has formed a partnership with Regeneration Brainery – an award-winning academy set up in 2017 which has worked with more than 6,000 young people.

As part of the joint venture, Bellway will host a workshop at its head office.

This will be the very first time Regeneration Brainery delivers workshops within the region. Work placements will give participants insight into working for the company, highlighting career avenues within the Apprenticeship and Graduate programmes.Young people taking part in Regeneration Brainery’s initiative to showcase careers to young people.Young people taking part in Regeneration Brainery’s initiative to showcase careers to young people. At present, more than seven per cent of Bellway’s 2,800 employees are in ‘earn and learn’ roles.

This programme will enable the housebuilder to increase this number.

Heidi Khoshtaghaza, group HR director at Bellway, said: “Bellway is delighted to partner with Regeneration Brainery to offer work experience opportunities to young people who are interested in a career in construction.

“As an employer of choice, we realise the importance of encouraging young people into the housebuilding sector, and through this partnership, we are able to showcase the variety of roles within our business to a diverse audience, who otherwise might not realise the career opportunities available.”Young people taking part in Regeneration Brainery’s initiative to showcase careers to young peopleYoung people taking part in Regeneration Brainery’s initiative to showcase careers to young people (Image: Bellway)

The venture comes as part of Regeneration Brainery’s UK-wide expansion project.

The two firms hope to provide more young people with access to opportunities within the property and built environment sectors.

Michele Steel, chief executive officer of Regeneration Brainery, said: “Our new partnership with Bellway comes as Regeneration Brainery’s programme expands across the UK, and we work with more young people to open up access to opportunity through careers in property and the built environment.

“As a five-star housebuilder with a massive focus on finding and nurturing new talent, they’re the perfect partner to join us in our mission of a more diverse industry with more opportunity for social mobility.”

Founded in the North East in 1946, Bellway remains one of the region’s biggest employers.

The company, based in Newcastle, has been given a five-star builder status by the Home Builders Federation for nine years in a row.
