The Hoptimist on Tubwell Row in Darlington to reopen in June
The Hoptimist, on Tubwell Row, temporarily shut its doors in January while work was carried out to repair issues including the roof and heating.
Now, the venue has confirmed it is preparing to welcome punters back in June, just in time for summer.
When it reopens, the pub will offer darts and pool, as well as showing major World Cup games throughout the football season.
Describing itself as a βcommunity-focused pub in the heart of Darlingtonβ, the business shared an update on social media on May 20, announcing its return.
The post said: βReopening soon in Darlington.
βYour spot for darts, pool, great drinks deals and a proper friendly atmosphere.β
The closure was first announced in January, when the pub said it had encountered problems with the building.
In a post shared on January 21, it said: βAs many of you know, weβve been working our socks off to turn The Hoptimist into the fun, warm, community hub Darlington deserves. From retro gaming to our charity work, weβve poured our hearts and a lot of coffee into this place.
βHowever, behind the scenes, weβve hit a bit of a βstructuralβ snag.
βWe are currently in some very urgent talks with the building owners to try and secure the future of the pub and more importantly, to finally get the heating and repairs sorted so we can look after our amazing staff and you lot, our loyal customers.β
An official opening date next month has yet to be announced.
You can find the Hoptomist at 45-49 Tubwell Row, Darlington, DL1 1PD.Β
