Pepe’s Piri Piri to open at the Cornmill’s former Burger King unit
The fast food restaurant has signed a ten-year lease agreement to open in Cornmill Shopping Centre.
Pepe’s Piri Piri was founded in 2004 and has built a reputation for bringing authentic piri piri to the high street.
Zoe France, centre manager at Cornmill Shopping Centre, said: “We are delighted to welcome Pepe’s Piri Piri to Cornmill Shopping Centre.
“Our customers have been asking for more food options within the centre, and we are pleased to be delivering on that feedback with this opening.”
The fast food chain will open in the former Burger King unit, which shut towards the end of 2020.
The opening is expected to create several new employment opportunities, including kitchen staff, customer service roles and management positions.
A Pepe’s Piri Piri spokesperson said: “The team is excited to be opening soon in Darlington.
“Weβre proud to be offering the community a new food option within Cornmill Shopping Centre.”
Although no opening date has yet been announced, work on the new restaurant is expected to start tomorrow.
Details regarding the grand opening will be shared via Cornmill Shopping Centre social media channels in the coming months.
