Vintage by the Sea shares updates on new Saltburn shop

The Vintage by the Sea boutique shared the news with customers on January 17, confirming their closure on February 7 after three years of trading.

The shop previously took to social media in October in a “last ditch attempt to stay open” following low footfall.

Last month (February 10), the owner announced the business will be starting a brand new chapter after securing a new venue in her hometown of Saltburn.

Taking to social media on Friday (March 13), Clare said their new venue is now β€œstarting to feel like home” after a busy few months of relocating, with plans to open by Easter.

The post said: β€œExciting things are happening at Vintage by the Sea!

β€œWe’ve been very busy behind the scenes getting our brand-new shop in Saltburn ready, and we’re thrilled to say everything is coming together beautifully.

β€œThe old shop is now cleared out and with lots of decorating happening inside and out, moving in our stock, and adding that special Vintage by the Sea sparkle, the place is really starting to feel like home.

β€œWe’re making great progress and are hoping to open our doors by Easter.”

The 58-year-old owner previously said the timing of the closure was β€œbittersweet” as the shop was gearing upΒ to feature on the popular BBC series Antiques Road Trip, which aired at the end of last month.

She previously said: β€œIt’s been a really heart-wrenching time for us because we’ve put so much work into this shop and have been here for three years.

β€œWe were doing really well up until last summer – we’d built up a strong customer base, and we were even planning to add a tearoom at the back of the shop.”

An official opening date has yet to be announced, but the owner told customers to keep an eye out for their latest updates for the opening launch.

The post added: β€œWe’ll be sharing more updates very soon, so keep your eyes peeled for our big opening date!

β€œWe can’t wait to welcome you in.”

You can find the new shop at 6 Dundas Street East, Saltburn.
