Ulnaby Village Farm Shop in Darlington announces cafe closure


Ulnaby Village Farm Shop, in High Coniscliffe, posted the announcement on social mediaΒ last night (December 9), that it will be closing permanently on December 23.

The cafΓ© previously shared on social media in September that they had to stop serving hot meals and snacks due to it “not being economically viable”.

In a statement, Ulnaby Village Farm Shop said on Facebook: β€œAs many of you know by now, our cafe is closing permanently on Tuesday, December 23 at 4pm.

β€œThank you so much to our amazing, loyal and supportive customers – so many who have become friends over the years.

β€œAlso a huge thank you and much appreciation to our fabulous, hardworking staff. We couldn’t have done it without you.”

β€œHope you all have a lovely Christmas!

β€œAll our love, Ian and Donna x”

Customers said they were β€œvery sorry” to hear the news.

One person said: β€œI’m very sorry to hear you’re closing. Take care and best wishes for the future.”

While another person said: β€œYou will be a great loss, the food and staff were lovely, but all good things come to an end.

β€œCongratulations on you and all your staff on making a great contribution to people’s lives.”

The cafΓ© announced the farm shop will remain open but, starting in the new year, it will operate only on Fridays and Saturdays.
