Two North East Halifax branches to close for good in June

Lloyds Banking Group, which owns Halifax, gave details about the closures on Wednesday, February 11.

The branches are in Ashington and Billingham, and will both close for good at the beginning of June.

Halifax Ashington, on Station Road, will close on June 3, and Halifax Billingham, in the Town Square, will shut the next day on June 4.

The company said that 95 branches of Lloyds, Halifax, and Bank of Scotland across the UK will shut.

Of those, 53 are Lloyds branches, 31 are Halifax, and 11 are Bank of Scotland.

Elsewhere in the UK, numerous other Halifax and Lloyds branches will also shut.
