Tesco apologises to customers as recall issued for rice

The 350g packet of Tesco Special Fried Rice has been recalled as it poses a possible health risk for anyone who has an allergy or intolerance to wheat or gluten or coeliac disease.

Packets of the rice that are affected by the recall have a use by date of February 2, 2026.

Tesco recalls Special Fried Rice and issues ‘do not eat’ warning to customers

If you have bought the rice and could be affected by the recall, the supermarket urges you to avoid eating it and instead return it to any Tesco store.

Here you will be given a full refund, even if you don’t have your receipt.

Tesco said it is “sorry for any inconvenience caused” and reassured customers that no other Tesco products are affected by this recall.

What is a product recall?
