Tan Hill pub boss takes over Ribblehead Station Inn
Andrew Hields, who owns The Tan Hill Inn, is now the proud owner of The Station Inn at Ribblehead, close to the Cumbria border.
The sale sees The Station, built in 1879, become the third pub in the Tan Hill portfolio, which also includes the Green Dragon at Hardraw.

Former owners David and Claire Hobbs handed over the keys to Mr Hields at a party attended by friends and customers of their 24-year tenure, who said its an “honour” to take over.
Mr Hields said: “It is an honour to take ownership of such a Yorkshire landmark from David and Claire, who have done a fabulous job during their time here.
“Under their ownership and with a team of excellent staff The Station Inn has become part of the fabric of the Dales and a beacon of hospitality.”
The lauded Tan Inn might be known for its altitude and guests occasionally becoming stranded, but it’s the venue’s appearance in TV shows, film and celebrity sightings also make it a very interesting place.
Standing 1,732 feet above sea level on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales, it is officially recognised by the Guinness Book of World Records as the highest pub in Britain.

Often used as a spot for a picturesque meal or drink, the remote Yorkshire pub has seen everything from snow-bound guests and film crews over the decades.
In 1970, the pub was transformed into a moody backdrop for a film adaptation of Jane Eyre, starring George C. Scott and Susannah York.
It has also appeared in a roll call of British television: Vera, The Inspector Lynley Mysteries, Top Gear, All Creatures Great and Small, and more.
It even featured in Everest window adverts and a Waitrose Christmas campaign.
