Smokin Joe’s to open in Middlesbrough after setbacks

Smokin Joe’s closed its Guisborough spot in December last year, with co-owner Joseph Smith confirming the closure ‘in a nutshell, its a financial matter – the economy ain’t working for us.’

Opened on Fountain Street in Guisborough in March 2022, the store went ‘viral’ over its response to bad reviews as well as being known for serving up a ‘great’ burger.

Since the closure, the Facebook page for the takeaway said it was potentially opening at The Twisted Peel in Norton, however they have since confirmed this will not happen.

Now, the page has announced that the Smokin Joe’s brand will be moving into The Big Tute in Ormesby, Middlesbrough, on February 13.

As an offer for opening and to celebrate they will be offering their ‘famous’ quarter pounder burgers for only Β£2 from 4pm-6pm.

The brand has also announced it will be hosting ‘Big Terry’s Carvery’ on Sunday, February 15.

On Facebook the page announced: “So we’ve got some BIG news! Due to a change in circumstances we will unfortunately not be moving into The Twisted Peel in Norton, Stockton.

“Sorry to anyone this may disappoint!”

“However, we do have another premises we will be moving into ASAP!!!

“The Big Tute here we come.”
