Blues loose forward Malachi Wrampling will miss the rest of the Super Rugby playoffs after copping a three-week ban.

Wrampling was sent off for a dangerous tackle in his side’s 52-31 defeat to the Crusaders in last weekend’s qualifying final in Christchurch.

The 22-year-old was given a red card in the 19th minute after a high shot on Crusaders flanker Leicester Fainga’anuku.

The Super Rugby Pacific Foul Play Review Committee found Wrampling guilty of a dangerous tackle.

Wrampling, currently completing a 12-day concussion stand down, will miss this weekend’s semi-final against the Hurricanes in Wellington and the Super Rugby final if the Blues advance.

The Blues reached the semi-final as the “lucky loser” from the first round of the playoffs, while the Hurricanes are coming off a big win over the Brumbies.

The Chiefs host the Crusaders in the other semi-final.
