Joanne Gallagher, retail director at Specsavers Peterlee, said: “We are delighted to have invested this money back into our store to optimise the experience for customers.Β

“It also creates a better and brighter environment for our valued colleagues to be proud of as they continue to deliver for the community of Peterlee.”

She added: “We are over the moon with our new look and welcomed back customers with some cakes and nosecco.”

The store, which has served customers for 30 years, had to close temporarily during the works but is now fully open and trading in time for the busy half-term period.

Specsavers Peterlee is owned and operated by directors Mark Huddart and Joanne Gallagher and offers both hearing and eye care services.

Customers can book appointments by visiting the Specsavers website, calling the store directly, or popping in during opening hours.
