Kevin Brown, chief executive officer of Pacifica, said: “Achieving EcoVadis Platinum status is a hugely significant milestone for Pacifica and something our entire team should be proud of.
“Being placed in the top 1% globally reflects not just strong policies, but the real actions our colleagues take every day to operate responsibly, ethically and sustainably.
“Sustainability is fundamental to what we do.
“At our core, Pacifica exists to keep appliances working safely and efficiently for longer, reducing unnecessary replacement and waste.
“This rating recognises that repairing products is only part of the story, itβs about how we run our business, how we treat our people, how we work with partners and how we continue to raise standards across our supply chain.
“We describe Pacifica as a business for good because repair is fundamentally better for customers, communities and the environment.
“Achieving Platinum status sets a new benchmark for us.
“It strengthens our responsibility to keep improving and to help manufacturers, retailers and consumers move towards a repair-first mindset.”
EcoVadis assesses tens of thousands of companies around the world using internationally recognised standards, including the UN Global Compact and ISO frameworks.
The evaluation covers four central pillars: environment, labour and human rights, ethics, and sustainable procurement.
Platinum status is awarded only to companies demonstrating advanced, evidence-based sustainability practices across these areas.
Pacificaβs core business model is described as “inherently circular,” with the company repairing more than 360,000 domestic appliances every year.
This approach helps households extend product life and reduce waste.
Research commissioned by Pacifica found that a typical appliance repair generates just over one per cent of the carbon emissions associated with replacement.
Even the most complex repairs produce less than seven per cent of the emissions of a new appliance.
As part of its environmental commitments, Pacifica has pledged to achieve net zero operational emissions by 2035.
The company has already achieved carbon neutral status in its sector.
This progress has been supported by a move to renewable electricity, the adoption of electric vehicles, and detailed carbon tracking across all service delivery activities.
The EcoVadis assessment also highlighted Pacificaβs strengths in governance and social responsibility.
This includes workforce training programmes, high safety standards, ethical compliance systems, and responsible procurement policies adopted throughout its nationwide engineer network.
