Opening date revealed for Stack on Newcastle Pilgrim Street

Set in the former Worswick Chambers on Pilgrim Street rather than a stack of shipping containers, it will open on Tuesday, December 2.

The flagship site will welcome visitors from lunchtime and follows a multi-million-pound refurbishment of the historic site.

Neill Winch, CEO of Stack, said: “StackNewcastle has a special place in our hearts as it is so close to the site of our very first venue.

“We are very proud of the fact that we have brought this landmark building back to life after it being vacant for 25 years.

“It has our signature look but at the same we have kept its historical integrity and we can’t wait for everyone to see what has been our most ambitious project to date.”

It will offer eight bars, eight street food outlets, and an outdoor terrace with a stage and large screen, all set across three floors.

The site will also be the first Stack venue in the North East to offer the circus-themed “competitive socialising experience”, Sideshow.

Previously only available at Stack Lincoln, Sideshow includes interactive games such as shuffleboard and darts, as well as karaoke booths.

The Grade II-listed building has been completely transformed, while retaining many of its historic features.

Stack’s most popular outlets including ZZA Pizzeria, Bao Down, Acropolis, Brack Burger and We Are Melt, which opened at St. James’ Stack earlier this summer, and YOLO Coffee and Kitchen will all feature at the new site.

The venue also has three external units but details of who will take them on are yet to be announced.
