National Highways announced for Dynamo Park in Stockton

Wilton Developments has secured a freehold agreement with National Highways for a 29,500 sq ft office and depot at Dynamo Park on Cheltenham Road in Stockton.

The new facility will house 270 full-time staff and is expected to be operational by the end of the year. It will serve as a combined office and depot, supporting National Highways’ management of the A19.

Rach Whitfield, development director for Wilton Developments, said: “It’s fantastic to secure such a high-profile occupier as the anchor for this flagship development.

“It will set a benchmark for a high-quality range of industrial space planned for Dynamo Park.

“We are now on site delivering the infrastructure needed to open up the remaining plots for a further 530,500 sq ft of industrial space at this prime A19 location.

“The development will drive job opportunities, inward investment and economic growth in the area, capitalising on the lack of available stock in the region for businesses wanting to upgrade their facilities and environmental credentials.”

The National Highways building will be the first to be developed on the site.

Wilton Developments has appointed Stainforth Construction LLP to deliver the office and depot, as well as the site-wide infrastructure.

Steve Cooke, Director of Estates & Facilities Services, National Highways, said: “The development of our new combined office and depot at Dynamo Park will become an important part of our estate supporting our long-term vision of connecting the country.

“As we take over direct operational control of the management of the A19, the new facility will be key in delivering safe, well-maintained roads.

“We are also consolidating our nearby Darlington office onto the site to ensure we have an efficient estate to support operational delivery which is Better, Greener and Smaller.”

Dynamo Park has capacity for an additional 530,500 sq ft of industrial, storage, and warehouse space.

The site has reserved matters consent for 470,000 sq ft of B2/B8 commercial use and could support more than 1,145 jobs.

HTA and Savills have been appointed to market the development, while Carter Jonas has been appointed to represent National Highways’ Project Team.

Wilton Developments also delivered Turbine Business Park in Sunderland and currently has more than 5.5 million sq ft of consented industrial and logistics space across northern England.
