Namaste fusion restaurant set to open in Seaham this March

Namaste Prosecco Microbar will launch on North Terrace in Seaham in late March, marking the fourth venue for the family-led business, which already operates locations in South Shields, Gateshead, and Seaburn.

Owned by brothers Razz and Boxa Ahmed – former contestants on Channel 4’s Come Dine With Me Professionals – the new location will combine Indian flavours with a contemporary twist, offering a menu that includes seafood dishes like lobster and seabass.

Razz Ahmed, 37, said: “We are first of all a family venue.

“We have a modern menu with an Indian twist.

“We will be doing lobster and seabass, but with a smoky fusion and grill menu.”

The restaurant will also serve as a late-night cocktail bar and will be led in the kitchen by head chef Abdul Shanoor.

“Seaham is a very nice community area and the people support hospitality venues.

“We are here to give them good food and good service.”

Mr Ahmed’s brother and business partner, Boxa, 38, is a chef, and together the pair placed second during their appearance on televised cooking competition Come Dine With Me.

Online, the announcement has already generated excitement among residents, with many looking forward to the arrival of the restaurant.

Rachael Blenkinsop said: “Cannot wait.Β I loved the one in Gateshead before I moved away.”

Ruth Bowie said: “Good luck.Β Looking forward to visiting.”

While Jonathan Day added: “I hope you do a very spicy curry.”
