Iceland reopens at Skerne Road Trading Estate in Hartlepool
Iceland on Skerne Road Trading Estate in Hartlepool reopened on Thursday, February 12, following a temporary closure to allow for upgrade works to be carried out on the shop.
The refurbishment includes a newly redesigned layout, refreshed shop front, and new self-service checkouts.
Kristian Barrett, chief operating officer at Iceland Foods, said: “Weβre committed to investing in our stores to ensure customers have the best possible shopping experience, and the Hartlepool refurbishment is an important part of that.
“Weβre excited to welcome customers back into their newly updated store and the improvements, from the refreshed layout to upgraded fixtures and new customer-friendly features, are all aimed at making everyday shopping simpler and more enjoyable.”
The redesign is also said to improve navigation in the store, making it easier for shoppers to find what they need, according to Iceland.
Staff are also celebrating the long service of Ian Lacey, who has worked at the store for 29 years.
Mr Lacey said: “Iβve worked at the Hartlepool store for nearly 30 years, holding roles from Stock Supervisor to Deputy Manager, and in all that time thereβs never been a dull moment.
“Iβve stayed so long because I genuinely enjoy what I do, and because this store means a lot to the community we serve. Iβm looking forward to welcoming everyone back and continuing to serve the community for many years to come.”
The store, which remains in its existing location, is open from 8am to 8pm, Monday to Saturday, and from 10am to 4pm on Sundays.
