How Asda customers can save Β£55 off their food shop

Martin Lewis first revealed Asda’s discount on last night’s Martin Lewis Money Show (January 20).

The supermarket is offering new online grocery customers up to Β£55 off their shopping, across four orders.

Getting the discount is easy with Asda sharing the step-by-step instructions on how to claim it.

How to get Β£55 off your food shop at Asda

New customers will need to spend Β£60 or more per order to receive Β£20 off their first shop as well as Β£10 off their second and third shops, and Β£15 off their fourth.

This saving totals Β£55 across four shops.

Can you get the Asda offer if you’ve shopped there before?

The offer is available to customers who are new to Asda online food shopping, including those who may have previously shopped on George but have not placed a grocery order before.

To take part, customers will need to register online with Asda and opt in to marketing during the sign-up process.

Within two hours of registration, customers will receive a unique discount code via email to get money off their grocery shop.

The initial code must be used by 11.59pm on Saturday, January 31 and the offer is limited to the first 23,000 customers who redeem a code, so you’ll need to be quick.

Subsequent codes will be sent after each qualifying delivery and will be valid for two weeks.

How to save money

An Asda spokesperson said: β€œWe know many households are looking for ways to make their money go further.

β€œThat’s why we’re offering new online customers up to Β£55 off their first few shops, giving them even better value on everyday essentials and their favourite brands, without needing a loyalty card.”

Martin Lewis shared the offer towards the end of his latest Money Show last night, saying: β€œIt’s a decent whack, Β£55 off your shopping, isn’t it?”

He warned the 23,000 customer target could have already started decreasing as customers would be made aware of the savings.

He shared the above details, along with a Β£50 off deal for breaks at Centre Parcs.

Asda to outsource George.com delivery impacting 1,200 staff

The news comes as Asda announced this week that it is planning to outsource delivery for online orders of its George clothing brand in a move impacting around 1,200 workers.

The private-equity owned chain confirmed proposals to shift distribution for George.com to DHL from January 2027, which would see all work for the online clothing arm move from its depots in Lymedale, Staffordshire, Brackmills, Northamptonshire and Washington, Tyne and Wear, to DHL’s site in Derby.

It said all staff impacted would be able to transfer to DHL under the proposals, adding its distribution sites would remain open and continue delivering to supermarkets for in-store George purchases.

Staff who work in distribution for other parts of the business at those sites will remain unaffected.
