Hair by Amber Yuill in Echo’s best hairdresser competition
Amber Yuill, of Hair by Amber Yuill, based at One & Only, 181 Northgate, Darlington has been named as one of the ten finalists in the 2026 competition.
With more than 15 years of experience in the industry, she moved to the salon in December 2024 where she rents a chair after becoming self employed.
Amber covers all aspects of hairdressing but specialises in Great Lengths extensions, a service that has helped her build a loyal and expanding client base.
One & Only is owned by Lauren Gaffney and opened in April 2024. The salon operates as a fully self employed space and is home to four hairdressers and two nail technicians.
Since opening its doors, it has quickly established itself as a hub for independent talent in Darlington.
Amberβs latest recognition comes after being nominated by her clients, a gesture she says means the world.
Amber said: βThank you so much to my clients who have nominated me. There are some incredibly talented hairdressers in the area, so to be recognised amongst them is really amazing.
“I am so passionate about my work and feel so lucky to have such kind, loyal and supportive clients.β
