Ex-Hartlepool MP Peter Mandelson arrested
This evening (February 23), a Met spokesperson said: “Officers have arrested a 72-year-old man on suspicion of misconduct in public office.
“He was arrested at an address in Camden on Monday, 23 February and has been taken to a London police station for interview.
“This follows search warrants at two addresses in the Wiltshire and Camden areas.β

Mandelson resigned from the House of Lords and the Labour Party in February 2026, following his September 2025 removal as UK ambassador to the US, due to his relationship with convicted child sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.
The move came as Keir Starmer said he had handed a dossier to the police after it emerged Mandelson had sent a string of emails to Epstein containing briefings he received as business secretary under Gordon Brown, including action the government was taking to deal with the global financial crisis.
Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor arrested
Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor was also arrested last Thursday morning (February 19) on suspicion of misconduct in public office.
Police were investigating the former princeβs dealings with the convicted child sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.
