Durham business park near full after firm investment

Traynor Business Park in Peterlee was revitalised through a seven-figure investment by North East Commercial and now supports around 500 jobs across three centres.

The park includes Traynor House, home to firms such as Redu, Knauf, North East Learning Trust, and JDR; Traynor Hub, which houses water company Everflow, along with a gym and Tray CafΓ©; and Traynor North, partly occupied by the NHS, Asbestos Audit, and MW Lift.

Andy Rothwell, co-director at North East Commercial, said: “When we acquired the site, we knew it had real potential to become a thriving hub within Peterlee’s vast business and industrial community.

“But at the time we also knew there was a lot of work ahead.

“The site was in a real state of disrepair so we had to look beyond that and be able to visualise what it could like with the right investment and commercial acumen.

“Now, the site is close to full occupancy with only three suites across all three buildings available.

“What we’ve created is a high-quality business park and an environment that provides businesses with the home from home feel that is so important, and we’re incredibly proud of that.”

Seven years after North East Commercial acquired the site, the business park is now 95 per cent let, with only three suites remaining.

The park’s success is partly attributed to its flexible, tailored approach to commercial space.

Brian Thompson, co-director at North East Commercial, said: “We pride ourselves on our flexibility to meet the needs of each of our tenants.

“We know office space isn’t one size fits all, every business has their own requirements so we will work with them to make the space truly fit for purpose.

“It’s what’s helped us attract such a diverse mix of clients, from our flagship tenants Everflow and the NHS to those that occupy the suites in Traynor House and Traynor North.

“This, along with the vast car parking and the on-site gym and cafΓ©, have helped make Traynor Business Park one of the most sought-after business locations in the North East.”
