Dr.inks in Darlington has asking price slashed by Β£35k
Dr.inks, on Coniscliffe Road, was put up for sale last year with a Β£75,000 price tag as a βkey opportunityβ with βmassive scope to increase salesβ.Β
But the bar, which has been based on the town centre street since 2018, has now seen its asking price reduced to Β£40,000 as bosses continue the hunt for a new buyer.Β
Parker Barras director John Taylor previously said the firm βconstantly reviewsβ its estates when asked about the sale last September.Β
He said: “The ones for disposal are for βsmaller and olderβ venues, or where the company has a second pub reasonably nearby.”
Dr.inks, which boasts three floors and an outdoor space on Coniscliffe Road, has grown a following over the years for its βmouth-wateringβ cocktails and βfunkyβ decor.Β
It is situated in a βbeautifully restoredβ townhouse which dates back to the 1830s, where it opened at the location formerly known as No 1 Paradise Terrace.
As well as serving up cocktails and drinks, it is also known for hosting events including afternoon teas, makeup masterclasses and comedy nights.Β
The bar currently runs on limited opening hours, from 4pm to 10pm on Thursdays, Fridays between 2pm and 12pm, Saturdays between 12pm and 12pm, and Sundays from 12pm to 8pm.Β
The developer said the bar remains in good decoration and could increase sales by adding a food offering.
