Alan Shearer and Gabby Logan dine in Newcastle before Qarabag tie

The pair enjoyed a meal at Khai Khai on Newcastle’s Quayside last night (Monday, February 23), ahead of Amazon’s coverage of the Champions League clash between Newcastle and Qarabag, which will be fronted by Logan.

A post from the restaurant on social media said: “Great to welcome the legendary @alanshearer alongside the brilliant @gabbylogan and the Amazon team to Khai Khai on the eve of a huge Champions League night. Howay the Lads!”

Khai Khai is well-known as a favourite among Newcastle United players and often attracts celebrity guests – it was the restaurant where Nick Woltemade ate on his first night out in the city after signing from Stuttgart in the summer.

On the night of their visit, Shearer was seen wearing a black wool overcoat, a black crew-neck top and dark blue jeans.

Logan wore a tan tailored jacket with a dark top underneath and carried a matching handbag.

Newcastle head into tonight’s match in a commanding position, having won the first leg 6-1 in a blistering performance in Azerbaijan which could have seen Eddie Howe’s side strike double figures.

The restaurant has an overall rating of 4.1 on TripAdvisor, with more than 250 ‘excellent’ reviews.

One reviewer said: “From the moment we were seated, the service was attentive and welcoming.

“My husband ordered the tandoori broccoli, and wow—I’ve never tasted broccoli that good.

“Every dish we had was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully prepared.

“This was our first visit, and it definitely won’t be our last!”
