How Ian Kinnery has transformed hundreds of businesses

Scaling-up coach Ian Kinnery, a former European Business Coach of the Year, enjoyed a successful career in the region as a managing director, and moved into coaching back in 2005.

Mr Kinnery said: “Running a business can be lonely.

“It can impact your mental health and often you need someone experienced you can turn to for that much-needed support in order to continue that growth journey.”

Now the co-founders of a fast-growing business more than 150 miles aways have praised the ‘pivotal’ role he has played in helping drive forward their success.

GeoAccess from Tamworth in Staffordshire, has seen its senior management team grow from five to 25 members, thanks to a series of new contracts and the company is now on track to achieve a record turnover of £13.6 million.

This significant growth in turnover has almost tripled since GeoAccess began working with Ian.

Mr Kinnery has been instrumental in the growth of hundreds of businesses over the past two decades, and attracted the attention of Managing director Mark Coleman around three years ago.

He acknowledges that both he and the business have ‘grown beyond belief’ due to the coach’s guidance.

Mr Coleman said: “From the moment we first spoke we just hit it off, and there was something about Ian that just clicked. He has helped us grow exponentially, while as a person, I’ve grown beyond belief.

“He’s played an enormous part in scaling this business, which now has 25 people within the core team and 175 people in the wider team.”

Before they started working with Mr Kinnery, GeoAccess, an  asset management company specialising in surveys and inspections whose client list includes Network Rail, was turning over between £3.5 and £4 million, but now they are set to hit £13.6 million.

Mr Frost said: “At the time I thought why do we need a business coach – we have clients, we know our industry and I felt we know what we are doing so I was sceptical.

“However, since then we’ve been proven very wrong. Ian became 100 per cent embedded within the business and thanks to his vast experience, helped us with the other side – numbers, people management and ensuring we were doing the basics right.”
