Tesco updates customers amid tinned beans shortage

Recently, customers have spotted Tesco shelves have been missing the own brand kidney beans, black beans, butter beans, chickpeas and cannellini beans.

Now, many shoppers have taken to social media to share their complaints, as one asked why Tesco has not discussed the “bean shortage”.

Tesco issues statement amid tinned bean shortage

Taking to X, formerly Twitter, one Tesco shopper said: “Why is no one talking about the fact there is a bean shortage in @Tesco?”

Another Tesco fan said: “What’s happening to your range of own-brand tinned beans? Nothing is in stock and for the last few weeks?”

Tesco has now issued a statement on the issue, sharing the lack of tinned beans due to supply challenges.

A Tesco spokesperson told the Metro: “We are experiencing some temporary availability issues on a small number of our own brand bean lines.

“We apologise for the inconvenience caused.”

Although Tesco offers alternative brands of tinned beans, many shoppers buy its own-branded variation for its affordability.

Despite facing issues with the likes of chickpeas and butter beans, the supermarket confirmed its own brand baked beans are not facing any supply issues.
