Knead a Slice serves ‘best pizza ever’ according to TripAdvisor

The pun-laden Bishop Auckland pizzeria, ‘Knead a Slice’, has racked up consistent praise online with enough high ratings to earn itself an impressive top rating on TripAdvisor.

With 25 of 30 reviews labelled as ‘excellent’, the restaurant has gained an impressive number of reviews with the top score possible on the site.

It serves pizza – of course – along with an array of cocktails and desserts including French toast and Biscoff dippers – made out of pizza dough.

Davy Richardson gave the site a perfect score on TripAdvisor saying: “The best pizza I have eaten in my entire life hands down.

“Staff were really friendly, great variety on the menu including monthly specials. The drinks were spot on as well. Very fair price, beautiful location, absolutely faultless.”

Another reviewer who was not from Bishop Auckland said: “First visit to Bishop Auckland and it was pouring down, so we wandered about to kill a bit of time before the Castle opened.

“Hadn’t intended to go in anywhere but we were so glad we did. Dog-friendly, pleasant, quick service and the perfect bacon and egg rolls!

“Wish we lived closer as I’d really like to try the pizzas and other things on the menu.”

Rhys, a user on the site, said: “We called in from work for a quick bite to eat, we got pepperoni pizza, bolognese pizza, garlic bread with cheese, fries and a couple of drinks.

“Came to roughly £30 which we found really reasonable for fresh handmade pizza, and the quality was amazing.

“From ordering to being served took around 15 minutes which is also really great. Staff were super friendly and couldn’t have done enough for us.”

Kate C praised the selection of drinks and food offerings and said: “Funky vibe with comfy interior decor. So good to find a nice eatery in Bishop Auckland at last.

“Check opening times, as sadly not every day.”
