Construction firm Caddick opens new office in Durham
Caddick Construction Group has opened its first office in the region, at Belmont Business Park, in Durham.
The new 2,045 sq ft office will be the base for the team leading business development and project delivery in the North East.
The opening of the office was marked by a visit from Durham County Council deputy leader, Councillor Richard Bell, and Caddick Group founder and chairman, Paul Caddick MBE.
The group’s expansion into the North East follows the appointments of Steve Ford as regional managing director for Caddick Construction North East and Yorkshire, and Simon Martin as managing director for Caddick Civil Engineering.
Both are tasked with growing the business’ regional pipeline.
The move will also see Caddick Civil Engineering extend its geographical footprint to serve a growing pipeline of residential development and regeneration, with services including groundwork and complex land remediation for brownfield sites.
Paul Dodsworth, group managing director at Caddick, said: “We are really excited to launch our new office in Durham and to move ourselves closer to our growing client-base in the North East.
“There is a healthy pipeline of construction work in the region, and weβre very proud to bring our capabilities, knowledge and experience to this thriving market.”
As part of its new regional presence, Caddick has helped to raise more than Β£20,000 for local charity, St Cuthbertβs Hospice, with the business partnering with the Durham-based hospice to facilitate a Christmas tree collection using Caddick vans and drivers.
The initiative raised Β£12,000 through the collection of 770 trees in the local area.
In addition, Β£2,550 was raised through staff donations, a figure that has been match funded by the business to generate Β£5,100.
The hospice, which provides free care and support to people with life-limiting illnesses, also received a funding boost from Caddick in 2024, when the contractor donated Β£3,600.
Mr Dodsworth added: “St Cuthbert’s Hospice is a very special place for me personally and I am proud of the funds our people and our business has fundraised to support the local community and families living with life-limiting illnesses.”
Steve Ford, regional managing director of Caddick Construction Yorkshire and North East, said: “Caddick has a proud reputation for delivering high quality projects, and for being a forward thinking, collaborative and innovative construction partner.
“The conversations we are having, and the response we have so far seen in the North East market, have proven the appetite and demand for our services in the region, and weβre very proud to cement our presence in the North East with our new Durham office.”
Simon Martin, managing director of Caddick Civil Engineering, said: “The Government has some very bold housing targets, and keeping pace with these ambitions is reliant on unlocking brownfield regeneration.
“Broadening our geographical reach into the North East will allow us to serve this growing pipeline with our knowledge and experience of complex land remediation.”
