Northumberland Indian restaurant named best in UK for 2025

Mumbai Flavours in Alnwick, Northumberland was hailed Indian Restaurant of the Year (UK-wide) and Indian Restaurant of the Year (in the North).

Further afield in the region, Yuvraaj Restaurant in Sunderland was voted Fine Dining Restaurant of the Year.

It comes as the third Nation’s Curry Awards are said to “bring out the best of achievements in the curry industry” – with the winners being revealed at Stanley House Hotel & Spa in Blackburn.

Other awards went to Aroma Lounge in Wigan for Outstanding Curry of the Year and Barlick Raj Balti in Barnoldswick for Balti Restaurant of the Year, plus many more.

North East restaurant crowned UK’s Indian Restaurant of the Year

Mumbai Flavours, located on Narrowgate in Alnwick says its restaurant menu offers “authentic dishes from Mumbai, bursting with flavours,” according to its website.

It adds: “Our family has over 50 years of experience running Indian restaurants in the North East.”

On Tripadvisor, the Northumberland restaurant currently has a rating of 4.5/5 from nearly 1,000 reviews.
