The Blue Bell, Yarm, confrims reopening date after refurb

Last month, The Blue Bell temporarily closed as pub chain owners Punch Pubs and Co carried out a refurb at the Yarm Road venue.

Construction has been underway at the site over the last few weeks, with fences being erected around the pub as teams refresh its interior ahead of the relaunch.

The Blue Bell has now confirmed that it will be re-opening on Thursday (February 13), inviting punters to celebrate a new start with fizz, food tasters, new draught beers and more.

The pub said on Facebook: “You’re invited to join us and celebrate our re-opening! Thursday evening from 6pm…

“We’re celebrating a new start for the Blue Bell with some live music, food tasters and a glass or two of fizz – and we’d love you to be here…

“Come and check out the new menus, new draught products and meet me, the family and the team. Thanks again for all the goodwill messages and we look forward to welcoming you this week. The Blue Bell, Yarm.”

As previously reported, the former coaching inn, which has been located by the River Tees since the early 1700s, has been hailed as having “one of the best beer gardens on Teesside”.

Punch Pubs said the outdoor area, which looks over the river and Yarm, would also see some improvements as part of the revamp.

A spokesperson for Punch previously said: “We can confirm that the Blue Bell pub in Yarm has temporarily closed whilst it undergoes an investment.

“The Blue Bell is a fantastic pub, and we have exciting plans for its future. We look forward to sharing more details, as well as welcoming the community back through the doors, very soon.”
