Married At First Sight Australia episode 3 recap: Eliot’s ‘dramatic’ sudden exit spells trouble in paradise

But it’s all in vain. “So dramatic,” he huffs to the cameras before he gets into the car. Ironic when he’s the one causing the drama.

“Fascinating to see a grown man throwing a tantrum,” Lauren says, and I think quite a few people would agree with her.

Things are still incredibly awkward between Tim (our new villain) and Katie after the former rejected his new bride on their wedding night, claiming there was “no spark”.

It’s clear Tim doesn’t want to be there, despite Katie trying her best to make things work. Could another walk-out be on the cards?

Elsewhere, Carina and Paul and Jamie and David are cracking jokes, smiling and getting cuddly on their honeymoons, which gave us a welcome relief from the doom and gloom of the others.

Two more couples also got married tonight, with both going relatively smoothly after one rocky start.

Double trouble might have been on the cards for Awhina, 30, when she married Adrian, 31. It was revealed early on both had twin siblings.

While the pair looked great together and instantly connected, tensions arose when a joke ending with “Don’t worry, I don’t have kids” took single mum Awhina by surprise.

Things got even more tense when the new bride called for a “timeout” after her mum revealed the fact in her wedding speech.

Adrian appeared shocked by the revelation and admitted it would “take time” for him to come to terms with the news, but ultimately said he was open to continuing the relationship and seeing how things played out.

Billy, the 31-year-old Brit, has stepped swimmingly into the “roker” role of the show. The self-proclaimed “mamma’s boy” brings golden retriever energy to the proceedings, and there’s no doubt he’ll be a fan favourite.

He married Sierah, a 31-year-old financial planner who had a “tumultuous” upbringing and admitted she feared abandonment and rejection.

There was plenty to smile about when the two couples met, with myriad jokes cracked and a shared sense of appreciation for each other and their families.

Here’s hoping these two add to the list of Mafs success stories going into the future, because who doesn’t love a good fairy-tale romance?
