SoignΓ© confirms it will open on Yarm High Street this summer
SoignΓ©, which opened at Lowfields in Ingleby Barwick last May, was revealed as the firm taking over Fourteen Drops when signs went up on the former wine bar last week.
And the brand, which serves up everything from hand-crafted croissants to cruffins, has now confirmed the news of the new venture, saying it will be βwith you shortlyβ.Β
An official date is not yet known – but the post confirms it will open its doors in summer.
The announcement – which confirmed SoignΓ© has no plans to leave its site in Ingleby – has already been met with praise online, with some branding it βamazing newsβ.
Run by father and son Stephen and Josh Palmer, SoignΓ©, which is pronounced βswan-yayβ, is derived from the French word meaning βelegantly made or carefully attended toβ.Β
Stephen and Josh have spent decades in the hospitality industry but had never worked together until SoignΓ© was born last year.Β

Stephen, a baker and pastry chef with a storied career across Europe, and rising chef Josh said at the time that they wanted to create something βtimeless and newβ.Β
Every ingredient at SoignΓ© is said to be “chosen with obsessive care” – with every pastry handcrafted and containing zero additives.
The duo use cultured butter from the Highlands of Scotland, premium Canadian wheat for βperfect laminationβ, and the finest high-cocoa content chocolate.
The news of SoignΓ©βs opening came just days before Deep North confirmed plans to open a new doughnut shop in the former Hobo Coffee House.Β
Meanwhile, Fourteen Drops, which first opened on the High Street in 2017, is now located in its market hall above Strickland and Holt, in the former Joe Rigatoniβs.
