New Seaham health clinic offers IV drips and aesthetics
The Health Sanctuary, which recently opened on Church Street, Seaham, offers a range of services including IV drips, testosterone treatments, weight loss support, and more.
Founder Melanie Foxton, an advanced nurse practitioner with 16 years of experience, saw a gap in the market.
Ms Foxton said: “I am an Advanced Nurse Practitioner working in a local GP surgery and have been qualified for 16 years now.
“I have had my own business and, over four years, have gained more than 1,000 loyal clients and realised I have outgrown my little rented clinic room.
“I felt if I was going to open my own clinic, I had to make sure it had something new, appealing and otherwise not available in the NHS under its roof in order to give it a unique concept before opening.
Melanie says she has also realised that there is no immediately local service for private healthcare, just the basic services that she feels are missing and that the NHS are unable to fund.
The Health Sanctuary will offer GLP1 weight loss treatment, therapeutic IV drip infusions, blood testing, and private clinics for menopause and testosterone replacement.
Allergy relief and wellbeing services are also available.

Ms Foxton said: “I also feel very privileged to have welcomed an amazing team of other experienced and skilled professionals working under The Health Sanctuary roof including Nina, Kate, Elaine and Ryan who will be offering a range of aesthetics training in our fully accredited academy.
The Health Sanctuary also features medical-grade machinery to remove skin lesions, unwanted tattoos and body hair, advanced skin care and wellbeing and recovery massages.
