New salon By Lia Neve Smithson opens in Blackhall Colliery
Lia Neve Smithson, started out in the beauty industry three-and-a-half years ago renting chairs in other salons, but has always wanted her own studio.
Despite being only 20, a whole 14 years younger than the average first-time home buyer in the UK, she purchased a buildng on Sixth Street in Blackhall Colliery last July, and opened to customers on Monday (April 20).
Named ‘By Lia Neve Smithson’, Lia specialises in lash extensions, as well as lash lifts and brow treatments.
Lia said: “It has been a long process, we bought the building in July last year, got the keys in November and then completed a full renovation after bringing it pretty much back to brick.
“It is just so rewarding and I am so excited now we are open, the response has been so good and everyone has been so supportive.
“I have always dreamed and wanted my own space so it is so exciting now that its opened.”
Reflecting on opening her studio, Lia said reaching the milestone had been particularly meaningful after a difficult year for her business.
She said: “There has been weeks and weeks and weeks of stress, a full renovation and everything that came with it, so reaching this moment feels so refreshing and rewarding.
“I canβt believe Iβve finally opened the doors to my dream little studio, designed by me. Itβs everything I had imagined and more.
“And after a very challenging year for my business, having so many times where I have hugely doubted myself, itβs made this milestone even more meaningful.
“I wouldnβt be here without my amazing clients or my family. Their loyalty, support, and trust in me mean everything. They’ve been part of this journey every step of the way, and Iβm so grateful for each and every one of them.
“This is much more than just a new space, itβs a new chapter.”
