Nurse to open new aesthetics clinic at Trimdon Village

Samantha Pugh, 34, from Trimdon Grange, has spent the last seven years building her business Enhanced Aesthetics alongside her career as a mental health nurse.

What began as a small set‑up at home has gradually expanded, prompting her to take the leap into getting her own premises.

The mum-of-two said: β€œI’ve always wanted to have my own shop one day, but I didn’t think I’d ever get to this point.

β€œThe support and growth over the years has just been overwhelming and I’m so grateful to be starting this new chapter.”

The new clinic, based on Church Road, Trimdon Village, will offer a larger space for her clients including a reception area, a waiting space and two treatment rooms.

One room will be used for procedures, while the other will provide an β€œambient setting” for facials.

Samantha said she hopes to draw on her background in mental health nursing by creating a welcoming space where clients can go somewhere to relax and feel supported.

The 34-year-old said: β€œIt’s not just about the treatment.

β€œIt’s about giving people time for themselves, from the phone consultation through to sitting down with a coffee and having a chat. I want it to be a place where people can come for support.”

Samatha also plans to host monthly drop-in sessions where people can visit for an informal chat in a relaxed setting, even if they are not her clients.

She said: β€œMental health is a huge thing, and there is a lack of support in some areas.

Β β€œA lot of my clients already open up during appointments, so I wanted to create something where people can just come in, sit down and talk if they need to.”

The mum-of-two balances her business while working six days a week and raising her young sons.

She said: β€œIt has been difficult at times. There has been a lot of hard work, dedication and sacrifice, but I have always wanted to provide a high standard of treatment in a professional, medically backed environment so I can support my sons.”

With refurbishment work set to begin at the start of April, Samantha said she is hoping to open the doors in May.

Since announcing the news, Samantha said the response from clients and the community has been β€œoverwhelmingly positive.”

She said: β€œEveryone has been so supportive since my announcement. It is a big step, but I am really excited for what is to come.”
